She participated in the Community Service Club Board, the Latin Club, and also served as a prefect and student ambassador. In addition, Laura was a peer-tutor in her school's "Best Buddies" program. Her sports were JV gymnastics and cross country.   She also was captain of the varsity field hockey team.

She spent her school breaks engaged in civic-learning programs across the country through The Civic Education Project.   She first became involved in that project at Northwestern University.   She remains engaged as a member of the program's board.

At Brown, Laura also sat on the Greek Council Executive Board, serving as their Community Service Chair.
