Monette H. Park, MSW

Retired Social Worker, Columbine High School

Monette H. Park, MSW, served as the site based social worker at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. She was present when the school was attacked on April 20th, 1999.   She is now retired.

As one of the many staff on the scene during the devastating attack of the school, Ms. Park has experiences as a direct survivor of violence that has led to "personal growth that has been both enriching and challenging."  

Recipient of the Colorado School Social Worker of Distinction Award, Ms. Park has presented to parents, students, administrators, social workers, psychologists, and police personnel in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Los Angeles, Illinois, and Wisconsin, as well as the SSW and CSPA conventions in Colorado.  

Prior to working as the social worker at Columbine High School, Ms. Park worked in the Jefferson County, Colorado School District for 25 years as a teacher and social worker at the elementary, middle school and high school levels.   She has experience working with both children and parents.

Ms. Park has three grown children, all graduates of Columbine High School, six grandchildren, and a supportive husband of forty years.   She is happy to be involved with www.whatiwishyouknew.com .
