Nicole Brodsky, PhD

Psychologist and Documentary Filmmaker

Nicole W. Brodsky, PhD is a psychologist and documentary filmmaker. Her documentary Sage explores the themes of age, wisdom and creativity through the voices and experience of remarkable elders pursuing their creative passions into their seventies, eighties and nineties. She is currently conducting research for a new documentary on portraits of compassion.

Prior to developing Sage, she served as Associate Producer for Daley: The Last Boss, which aired nationwide on the PBS series, The American Experience. She has contributed to scholarly publications, research projects and educational initiatives in the US, UK and Germany, respectively, and continues to do creative consulting for business.

Nicole is an Affiliate of the Buehler Center on Aging of Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine and serves on the Board of Infants’ Aid, a volunteer organization raising funds and supporting education, research and programming for the Special Care Nursery of Prentice Women’s Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Hospital. She also is the President of the Anni Lewinsky Unger Bibliothek (Library)/Museum in Halle (Saale), Germany, which provides educational enrichment for the greater community.

She received her BA in History and Child Study from Tufts University and conducted her graduate training at the University of Chicago, where she earned both her MA and PhD through the Committee on Human Development, Department of Psychology.
