Tom Golebiewski, PhD, LCSW

Thomas Golebiewski is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in practice for 29 years. He has a private individual psychotherapy and consultation practice in Wilmette, Illinois.

Mr. Golebiewski is Chair of the Social Work Department at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, and has held this position since 1987. In this position he serves in multiple roles as a department supervisor, clinician, and on the leadership team.

He is also an Adjunct Professor at Loyola University of Chicago and teaches in the Graduate School of Social Work.

In addition, Tom is an advanced student at the Institute for Clinical Social Work in Chicago, and is currently working on a dissertation that addresses the relational issues of abusive men. In his clinical practice he has developed, facilitated and consulted to male batterer domestic violence groups, for A Safe Place in Lake County, Illinois for over 17 years. He is certified as a provider for the Lake County Domestic Violence Intervention Program and is a member of the model protocols committee for the Family Violence Coordinating Council for the 2nd Municipal Circuit Court in Skokie, IL. He has developed leadership and intervention groups and programs in the school and community in which he works.

He has been a founding member of the New Trier Township Community Response Network, and is a member of the Township Crisis Steering Committee.

Tom Golebiewski is an active participant in Group Relations Conferences, in the Tavistock Model. He is an Associate of AKRI and CCSGO has been in a number of administrative and consulting roles, having served a three-year term as an administrator for the AK Rice Institute’s 8-day Residential National Conferences between 2001 and 2003 and as Forum Director 2003-2004.

He is certified by the Red Cross as a Disaster Mental Health responder. In addition, he holds membership in a variety of local and national social work organizations.
